E M Channon

E M Channon

E M Channon was born Ethel Mary Bredin on 17 October 1875 in Ireland. After her father’s death four years later, she and her mother moved to St Leonard’s where she attended the Ladies’ College. She married Rev Francis Channon in 1904 and together they had six children. Ethel began writing after her marriage and produced numerous books for both children and adults. She is, perhaps, most well known for The Honour of the House, which was published in 1931, but she wrote another dozen or so stories for girls between 1924 and 1937. She died in 1941.
